Adjustment to Brain Injury

This program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges that individuals who have experienced a brain injury may face. Participants will learn about the causes of brain injury, the changes that can occur after a brain injury, possible challenges in adjustment after a brain injury, the stages of grief that a survivor may experience, and self-care strategies. Additionally, the program will cover support systems, including loved ones, community, and medical teams, as well as programs and services aimed at helping those with a brain injury.

 

Kim Myers is a dedicated community outreach specialist with the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey. She holds bachelor’s degrees in health science and public health from Stockton University and has gained extensive experience in developing and facilitating community programming on a wide variety of health topics. With a passion for brain injury prevention and education, Kim has dedicated herself to promoting awareness and developing effective strategies to prevent these injuries in New Jersey. Through her work, she strives to empower individuals of all ages to lead healthy, fulfilling lives and create a better, more connected community.
