New Jersey Division of Aging Services

The Division of Aging Services administers federal and State-funded services and supports and makes it easier for seniors and caregivers to live in the community as long as possible with independence, dignity and choice. The agency receives federal funds under the Older Americans Act whereby it serves over 500,000 individuals and is the focal point for planning services for the aging, developing comprehensive information about New Jersey’s older adult population and its needs, and maintaining information about services available to older adults throughout the state.

New Jersey State Library Talking Book & Braille Center

The New Jersey State Library Talking Book & Braille Center (TBBC) serves New Jersey residents of all ages (children, teens and adults) who cannot read standard print or who cannot hold a book or turn the pages of a book because of a physical impairment, a reading disability, or a visual impairment. TBBC provides no-cost, home-delivered services as a regional library of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), a division of the U.S. Library of Congress.

Offers people with disabilities transit service which is comparable to the local bus service. Mini-buses and wheelchair access vans are used.

Each person must be certified at one of the NJ Transit Access Link certifying agencies.
